AgriMalawi
For the next month, I will be building my startup AgriMalawi along with my friend Naman Jain. For the last 7 months, I have cultivated a passion for the energy transition. I realized the massive potential clean energy has on improving the quality of life in underserved communities around the world. One of the biggest applications of clean energy is in the agriculture sector. Many developing countries like Malawi have agrarian-based economies. Unfortunately, farmers can’t afford modern irrigation technology that could optimize harvest production. Instead, they rely on rain which is extremely inefficient considering that droughts occur frequently. With AgriMalawi, I am developing an effective microfinancing model that ensures financial flexibility for farmers and considerable profits for the startup.
In May, I will have the opportunity of pitching the idea in front 4 judges. I will give an update on how that goes.
Lessons from TKS
One of the biggest things I learned from TKS is to be proactive and relentless. This advice is especially applicable when applying for opportunities. Sometimes, I might be hesitant to apply to something that is extremely competitive. Even if the chances are slim, it does not hurt submitting an application. The chances are 0 when you don’t apply. In many cases, you can apply again and have a better shot.
