February in a Nutshell
Receiving a University Acceptance, completing an AI Project, and looking ahead
My Progress
In February, I embarked on my journey in artificial intelligence and climate change. In my past projects, I have examined the business & socio-economic aspects of climate change, mainly how we can increase clean energy access. Now, I am going more technical and using AI technology to deepen my understanding of climate change.
I started off February by writing an article on how wind energy is getting more reliable and valuable through neural networks. In my article, I talked about how Google Deepmind has made significant contributions towards wind energy reliability.
You can check out the article here.
I also coded a linear regression model that can predict the global temperatures in 100 years. I used a dataset from Kaggle that had weather data from 1750 to 2015. Although I am new to machine learning, I have already learned a lot about libraries such as Numpy, Matplotlib, and Sci-kit Learn. You can check out the code for the project here.
University Acceptance
While I was working on my projects, I received some good news. I received an acceptance for computer science at the University of Toronto St. George campus. U of T is regarded as the best university in Canada and one of the best research schools in the world. I am excited to attend U of T in the fall.
Looking Ahead
In March, I will be working on a new AI project that will use a neural network to forecast solar power generation. This will be challenging, but I am assured that I will learn a lot in the process.
That’s all for now. Stay tuned for an update next month
